As neoliberalism continues to reakhoc on society, it’s harder to get folks to give themselves over to something larger than them. Everyone is so self-center and meritocratic, afraid that what they have will be taken away not realizing we are stronger as a collective than divide. That is real problem with why orchestras don’t connect with society anymore, it’s the music making itself. Audience aren’t buying it anymore, and why should they?
